R. J. Corman Switching: Multiple Lines of Service at Westlake, Louisiana.
In 2022, R. J. Corman Railroad Switching Company, LLC, a subsidiary of R. J. Corman Railroad Group, was awarded a contract to provide a chemical company with switching services for its operations in Westlake, Louisiana.
At the Westlake location, R. J. Corman holds a diverse set of heavy equipment and eight locomotives, as well as a workforce of over 80 employees that cover various roles at the location. The switching operation is served by Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) through its adjacent Mossville Yard and line. In 2016, R. J. Corman Railroad Services built an expansion to the Mossville Yard to service the facility. In total, 35 miles of new track, 132 turnouts, and 136 switches were constructed. Read more here.
Since the opening of R. J. Corman’s first switching location in 2001, the company has significantly increased its portfolio by operating in 18 divisions between automotive and industrial switching sites throughout 10 different states.
Originally only holding one contract at the Westlake location, R. J. Corman Railroad Switching Company has now secured three contracts with two major producers in the chemical industry. The services provided at this location include switching and mechanical car repair services, track maintenance and inspection, and operating a wash bay.
