April Colyer joined R. J. Corman in 2013 as a Dispatcher for Railroad Services after which she completed a leadership program where she rotated through all the R. J. Corman operating companies. She then served as a Project Manager and advanced to the role of Director of Public Relations. In this position, April oversees public relations efforts including internal and external stakeholder engagement, corporate communications, marketing design, special events, and community relations. She also has operational oversight of My Old Kentucky Dinner Train, the company’s excursion train where guests are treated to fine dining experiences. April has been part of a multitude of cross functional teams and projects during her tenure with the company, providing her with working knowledge of the company’s many business units. She has a wealth of knowledge about the R. J. Corman organizational culture and core values which guides her public relations approach. April also holds a BA in Chemistry from Transylvania University.
