Step 1 - Contact our Team
Our team looks forward to discussing key criteria related to your project. Details such as commodity type, anticipated rail volumes, origin/destination, and frequency of shipment will be very helpful to the discussion.
Step 2 - Find a Site
Consult our list of potential rail-served sites along our rail lines or let us know if you’ve identified other potential locations. Our team will help guide the discussion on what it would take to rail serve your preferred location.
In cases where direct rail access may not be possible, our team can help identify potential transload solutions.
Step 3 - Develop a Rail Concept
We’re here to assist your team in development of a conceptual site plan that outlines how rail can work at your preferred location. We’ll work with our internal groups to ensure alignment on the proposed scope of the project.
Step 4 - Engineering Analysis
Our team is here to assist your chosen design team to ensure that all applicable rail design criteria are met during the final design phase. We’re committed to making sure your project stays on track through this process and addressing any questions or concerns that might arise. We’ll help secure the necessary approvals from R. J. Corman stakeholders to move your project forward to construction.
Step 5 - Agreement Execution
Based on the specifics of the project, our team will coordinate the preparation of the applicable agreements to help move a project forward. All rail-served facilities will need an Industry Track Agreement to be in place between our companies, but there may be additional agreements required during the construction phase.
Step 6 – Construction
Once all applicable agreements have been reviewed and executed, our team will ensure you have a clear path forward for construction of your new facility and rail infrastructure. R. J. Corman will inspect any track infrastructure prior to service.
Step 7 - Onboarding and First Shipments
We’ll work with our internal groups and other rail partners to establish your new facility as an active, rail-served location in the systems used for shipping and receiving rail traffic. Once everything is completed, we’ll help ensure your first rail shipment moves forward seamlessly and your team is set up for success!

Depending on the scope of work needed, the project may follow the steps outlined in Scenario 1 or 2. Our team will help you understand the necessary steps and secure any R. J. Corman approvals needed to progress your project at the existing facility.
