R. J. Corman Railroad Services Wins NRC’s 2024 Small Project of the Year Award

We are thrilled to announce that R. J. Corman Railroad Services has been honored with the NRC Small Project of the Year Award for our exceptional work on the nearly six-mile siding extension project between Wells and North Berwick, Maine, for CSX. This prestigious award recognizes our commitment to innovation, expertise, and high-quality work in the railway construction industry.

The project, which involved extensive planning, adaptability, and meticulous production tracking, stands as a testament to our team's dedication and skill. One of the key innovations was our approach to material stockpiling and distribution, utilizing hi-rail rotary dump trucks to efficiently handle over 22,000 tons of ballast. Our coordination with Amtrak and CSX ensured seamless operations and worker safety throughout the project.

Despite the challenges posed by limited access and confined work areas, our team successfully completed the siding extension with precision and care. This project will significantly improve the reliability and schedule flexibility of both the Amtrak Downeaster and CSX freight trains, supporting the addition of a sixth daily Downeaster round-trip between Wells and Brunswick, Maine.

This is the second year in a row that R. J. Corman Railroad Services has won the Project of the Year Award. This consecutive recognition underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality projects and our ability to consistently meet and exceed industry standards. Our team's dedication to excellence, innovative approaches, and strategic planning have been pivotal in achieving these accolades.
