R. J. Corman Aircraft Maintenance, LLC Sold to Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance, Inc.
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC announces the sale of its Aircraft Maintenance business to one of its own employees, Joe Otte. Joining Mr. Otte in this new venture is his business partner, Todd Case, who will serve as president of the newly formed Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance, Inc. Prior to the sale, Mr. Otte headed up R. J. Corman Aircraft Maintenance operations out of the company’s headquarters in Nicholasville. R. J. Corman originally acquired the business from Thoroughbred Helicopter Services in 2004.
“This is an exciting time for one of our truly dedicated and talented employees. While we are sad to see Joe leave us, we are thrilled he is able to begin his own business,” said Craig King, R. J. Corman Railroad Group President and Chief Executive Officer.
“We are honored to own any company that was cultivated by a person with such high character as Mr. Corman,” said Mr. Otte in reference to Rick Corman, founder of R. J. Corman, who lost his long-fought battle to cancer in 2013. “We are also looking forward to using all the skills and know-how we developed working for R. J. Corman to this new business,” said Mr. Otte, Vice President of Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance, Inc. “Our customers are the most important part of this move. We will provide them with a seamless transition, while continuing to serve all their aircraft maintenance needs.”
Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance, Inc. will continue to be a Federal Aviation Administration certified station for MD Helicopter 369-500, 500N; Bell 47, 222, 206, 407; Robinson R22 & R44; Schweizer 269; and several others. Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance, Inc. will also continue to provide general aviation maintenance and inspection services.
