R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC Announces New Presidents of R. J. Corman Railroad Company, LLC and R. J. Corman Switching, LLC
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. - R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC announced the appointments of their new Railroad Company president, Brian Miller, and their new Switching Company president, Michael Philpot on Friday. They each have extensive backgrounds in the railroad industry and years of experience with R. J. Corman that make them highly qualified to fulfill these positions.
Miller previously served as assistant vice president for the Railroad Company, but will immediately begin his transition to president. He began working for R. J. Corman in 2010 after a 20 year career in operations with Norfolk Southern. During his previous six years with R. J. Corman Railroad Company, Mr. Miller has held a variety of positions. Throughout his time as assistant vice president, he helped guide the Railroad Company through the acquisition of two additional short lines in Texas and the Carolinas. As president of the Railroad Company he will assume responsibility for the company’s short line railroads, distribution centers and railroad funding.
“I am dedicated to achieving the company’s mission of providing our customers with the best service possible,” Miller stated. “The best way to ensure that we are delivering on this promise is to continue working towards improving operating efficiency and expanding our short line business. I am also determined to maintain our high safety record. We have gone six and a half years without an injury, and I intend to continue that tradition.”
Philpot will also immediately begin his transition from assistant vice president, to president of the Switching Company. He began working for R. J. Corman in 2011 after having spent 15 years with CSX Transportation. Throughout his years at R. J. Corman he has worked for the Railroad Company, the Material Sales Company and the Switching Company. Since his start with switching in 2013, he has been influential in helping grow the company’s customer base. In three years, the number of switching locations has increased from five to 15. As president of the Switching Company, he will be responsible for overseeing the operations of division locations in nine states.
